Kennebec County Real Estate

Kennebec County is an inland region north of Sagadahoc and east of Androscoggin. This county is a huge attraction for tourists in the summer season. Kennebec is a largely rural area rich in lakes, rivers, and streams. These provide an ample amount of outdoor recreational opportunities for tourists and residents alike. Government jobs are the biggest employer in this county, but other industries are rapidly growing. High-tech manufacturing, health care, retail, utilities, and financial institutions offer many more options for employment.

Augusta is the capital of Maine and Kennebec’s county seat. As with most areas in Central Maine, this city is steeped in history, with its origins dating to the very early 1600s. The population is around 19,000, and the city boasts many cultural and recreational activities. The Pine Tree State Arboretum is a 224-acre stretch of land preserving many types of plants and trees and containing miles of trails, at no charge. The Maine State Museum and Library sit next to the Capitol Building, which includes Capitol Park and various monuments. The real estate market in Augusta is very nice due to safe and picturesque neighborhoods, competitive tax rates, and a higher level of services.
